 The Factory by The Evans Group

Launched in February 2010, The Factory is an unrestricted retail space in the SoMa area of San Francisco. At once a full-service fashion design and production house for designers, the small working factory within the brick walls allows walk-in customers the opportunity to observe the process of apparel manufacturing while they shop.  The Factory sells its eponymous in-house line of clothing - created to keep seamstresses working in between the high seasons of the traditional fashion world – in addition to collaborations with The Evans Group’s clientele of independent designers.  Further, The Factory operates as an experimental studio for cutting-edge events, industry meet-ups, photo shoots, fittings, and other community building activities.

Committed to serving as a model for fair trade and domestic work, The Factory hosts a quarterly internship program, providing students the opportunity to partake in all aspects of the manufacturing process, from idea to order fulfillment.
